I've actually put many Australians on to Riverside, and Amiina, and Mum, and Porcupine Tree, and Gazpacho, and a bunch of other bands. I write cd reviews for ProgEars, ProgBase and a couple of other sites, and I am famous amongst my friends for having good taste in unknown bands.

Riverside? Wow, our national pride! I'm glad you like Amiina, everybody loves Sigur Rós, but when you ask 'what about Amiina?' you get an answer: 'who...?'.
I work at music shop focused on prog-rock mostly, so all the band's names you've mentioned sound familiar... Now I'm begging my boss to organize NIN gig in Poland (we've organized Blackfield, Procupine Tree, Dream Theater... oh, wait, almost forgot! and Porcupine Tree, Porcupine Tree and Porcupine... ), please keep your fingers crossed!

I think I may be a bit advanced in years to qualify as a twin. lol. However, unlike many of my generation, I continue to look for and enjoy new music, rather than settling back with a hot chocolate and my collection of hits of the 70s and 80s. I started buying albums in 1976, with bands like Emmerson, Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, Genesis, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Led Zepelin, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk etc, and my tastes got weirder from there on in. Right now I am really enjoying the music out of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia especially. Gazpacho, Shamrain, Nosound, Amiina, Mum, Sigur Ros, Ulver, Riverside and more feature heavily on my mp3 players.
